Is it already Thursday? Yipee, nearly time for the weekend again, time to spend quality moments with my favourite people! :)

I love spending weekend holidays packed with fun and adventure with my gorgeous girl, family and of course my man. The weekend is such a precious time when we can get out all together, explore and have fun!

Before Littlelish arrived a weekend break would occasionally include a trip to Paris or some other European city. But after living abroad for so long, returning to England meant my love and enthusiasm for the country was totally rekindled. England is so beautiful, I love it’s green, verdant countryside, the rugged natural coastline, all the country pubs and little towns there are to explore and of course not forgetting the friendly English folk. Yes, I am a big fan of this beautiful country, you just can’t beat a mini weekend holiday here. Sure it would help if the sun shined a little more often but hey if it shone all the time it wouldn’t be so exciting when it finally does make an appearance (who I am kidding?)

Last weekend we visited Norfolk, one of my favourite places to have a little mini break. We spent hours playing on the beach in the sunshine, creating giant mazes for Littlelish to play in, turning mummy into a sand mermaid and watching a crazy footballing dog. We also lunched at one of my favourite restaurants in Norfolk, The White Horse.

Here are my top 5 places to go in Norfolk (it’s where you will normally find me!)

Holkham Beach – A vast beautiful beach surrounded by pine forest. Great for kids, shelling, playing in the sand dunes and dog walking.

Crabbing at Wells next sea – A great harbour for crabbing. Littlelish just loves spending hours catching them and throwing them back – why does it never get boring?

Shopping in Burnham Market – A small market town with some gorgeous little boutique shops my favourite are the handmade, vintage, coastal shops.

Having lunch at the White Horse in Brancaster – A beautiful restaurant with a lovely view and top class food. They recently won ‘best food’ in the 2013 Publican awards.

Sleep at the Vine House hotel in Burnham Market – A beautifully kept, luxurious, boutique B&B. Well worth a try.

Do you have any tips or recommendations of where to visit in Norfolk? Where is your favourite place to go for a weekend holiday? Have you checked out the fantastic UK breaks away at Butlins in 2013?
