I’m saying goodbye to summer 2013. What a summer it was – full of activity, excitement and laughter. I’m looking back over it fondly as the summer of new-found love. There were music festivals, a wonderful trip to Cornwall, lots of time spent with loved ones, a new arrival to the family and a very special 4 year olds birthday party.
I captured many of these wonderful moments on camera but perhaps my favourite picture of the summer is this one.
We were in Bude, Cornwall. We hadn’t long since arrived after a 6 hour car journey. We pitched our tent and headed off out to explore. We were excited at being on holiday, camping in a new part of the country, ready for adventures. We looked for a restaurant, having no map or idea where we were going and were lucky enough to stumble across the gem that is ‘Life’s a Beach’.
We sat overlooking the Bude beach and watched the sun disappear behind the horizon. There were surfers out riding the waves, silhouetted against the sunset and it truly was a little piece of heaven. I still remember the feeling now. Full of anticipation for our holiday and the rest of our lives together…
All 3 of us tucked into beautiful fresh fish, waited on by quite possibly the friendliest staff I have ever known. It was magical. Littlelish popped down onto the deck to get a closer look out over the beach and sea. She sat quite some time, my little girl, staring, hypnotised by the sea. I have no idea what was going through her mind, quite possibly she was daydreaming about mermaids and an underwater world or maybe she was just taking in the beauty of the moment, like me.
Thank you to Truprint who printed my most treasured summer memory on canvas for me.
What a fab picture to be put on canvas! Beautiful x

Love the photo. I have the good-luck to live in Bude now (for the last year). Best home-move our family ever made.
How wonderful! Such a beautiful place, must be fantastic to bring up a family there.
I was brought up in Bude and it was the best, I just remember the beaches the breakwater is still one of my favourite views, summers were always long and sunny. I now see my little granddaughters, same ages as your little ones being brought up here which is wonderful.
How lovely Angela! This comment made me smile :)
What an utterly gorgeous picture. I have one myself that means just as much, as the brood look out to sea. Wonderful memories x
