With Easter fast approaching my thoughts are turning to all things springy; crocuses, lambs, bunnies and erm…. snow?! I wanted to share these fab necklaces by fashion jeweller Tina Lilienthal with you because I just love them :) They come in a variety of different colours and are a seriously cool accessory to brighten up any outfit. Her designs are worn by some serious fashionistas, including Kelly Osbourne, Keira Knightley, Alexa Chung and Davina McCall.

Seriously inspired, Tina creates amazing jewellery. If you haven’t heard of her why not take a peek at her collections… Astral – space themed, Lash and Little Lash (hey that sounds familiar!) – knotted, Cherries, Skulls, Strawberries… gorgeous!

Anyone who knows me well will know of my love of stationary is endless. Paperchase is literally my idea of heaven. But where do you go when you want something a bit different, a bit unique and a lot beautiful? I’ve discovered a new online stationary boutique on my travels and I have fallen in love! inkThistle is a British website created by a lady called Debbie who also has a self confessed lifelong passion for stationary, notebooks and all things officey. She realised her dream to have her own stationary boutique and inkThistle was born!

Debbie sells a range of notebooks, journals, accessories and home office filing solutions many of which are made using traditional paper, printing, book binding and leather making methods! Stocking classic Moleskine, Paperblanks and LEUCHTTURM1917 products as well as the more quirky, original Paperways, Katy & June and Bomo art, there is most definitely something to suit every personality and function.

I love everything on the site and would quite probably want to own it all ;) but I’ve style spotted my absolute favourite item, this amazing iPad cover from magpie! (Now I just need to purchase an iPad haha!)

This was my favourite but why not pop over and check out inkThistle for yourself?

Valentines Underwear set by Playful Promises up for grabs!

If you are anything like me, nice underwear is something I used to concern myself with years ago, before the arrival of Littlelish. These days it is a luxury I don’t seem to permit myself. I grab whatever I can find that is clean and am pleasantly surprised if it actually matches in colour! I think it is not an understatement to say I am wholeheartedly ashamed of my underwear drawer.

Well I’ve let it get far enough. Enough I say! I’ve realised that the last couple of years I haven’t been looking after myself properly. Since the separation I’ve had a little more time to myself and I’ve realised just how much I haven’t permitted myself since being a mum. Time spent on grooming or exercising has vanished and as for treating myself , well that is well and truly a thing of the past. I kept telling myself it was superficial and happiness is to be found elsewhere, yet there is nothing quite like feeling good about yourself and your appearance. It just lifts your  confidence and lets you approach the world head on rather than shying off into the dark corner so no-one will see your unkempt eyebrows!

And so ladies, I’ve been underwear shopping! And I’ve discovered this wonderful lingerie brand, designed in London called Playful Promises who in their own words: “mix quirky, directional design with all things playful, flirty and even a little bit dirty.” I like, alot!

What I liked so much about the underwear designs from Playful Promise is that they are sexy and womanly without looking tarty (which I cannot stand!). They have unique designs that are grown up yet flirty and I especially adore the retro twist. Gorgeous, I think you will agree!

So you lucky mummies (and daddies/partners!) the very kind team at Playful Promises have offered one beautiful Valentines Underwear Set (first picture with this post) to giveaway including brief or thong (your choice), suspender belt and bra in your size (from 32a –  36dd and xs – xl). The winner will receive their prize just in time for Valentines day which means you don’t have long to enter so what are you waiting for? Entries through the rafflecopter please! Gooooooooooooooooooooo! (UK residents only, sorry!)

Paper Tiles Wallpaper

I absolutely adore the AW12 interior trend for faux wallpapers. Inspired by beautiful textures, often impossible or incredibly expensive to create on your wall in real life… Think faux bois, leather, antique mirrors, suede, sea grasses, velvet, tiles, wild animal hides and reptile skins. The effect is absolutely stunning, a highly original and distinctive look, bringing texture and dimension to your walls. I LOVE it!

So where do you begin to look for such inspired wallpaper? Well… I’d like to introduce you to the wonderful world of Fabric and Papers. Fabric and Papers is an online stockist of fabulous wallpapers and fabrics, as well as other interior goodies. Their range is just enormous!

Would you believe me if I said I spent a rather large amount of my evening yesterday surfing the site and consequently imagining wallpapering each and every one of my rooms? And I have never even wallpapered a wall in my life but I am about ready to learn! The question is do I have a wall deserving enough of such gorgeous paper?

Normally I’d only feature one item on a style spot but today I just can’t decided so I thought I’d share a few of my favourites with you. Do go and take a look for yourself at what they have to offer though because their really is something for every wall and style.

I LOVE boots. Knee high boots, ankle boots, heeled boots, flat boots, even wellie boots! I don’t own nearly enough pairs and I’ve found a company called Kiboots that makes gorgeous boots like these (above) and I must have them. Many moons ago, when pinterest first started I pinned a pair of vintage boots, very similar to these to my ‘want’ list. They were a vintage one off and had already been sold :( boo… but when I discovered the Kiboots online store, it was full of boots just like them! Wooohooo.

Kiboots are colourful handmade boots made by skilled artisans with over more than 30 years of experience, who combine original vintage kilim rugs with quality leather. Each pair of Kiboots is branded by hand and only the perfect boots are allowed to wear the ‘K’, with pride!

Combine their bohemian and vintage charisma together with the sustainable though traditional, handcrafted manufacturing techniques and a one-of-a-kind product, which perfectly matches nowadays fashion, originates.

Kiboots is a Dutch company based in Amsterdam but these awesome boots are sure to go global soon. I spotted them on FAB UK. Which pair would you rock? www.kiboots.com

This weeks Monday Moodboard theme is “The colour purple“. Purple is such an Autumnal colour, I thought it would make a great Moodboard theme but actually personally speaking, I am not a huge fan. Many years ago it was my favourite colour but I think I may have over done it somewhat and these days I tend to avoid it…

So when it came to making a purple inspired moodboard I wanted to do something to reignite my love of purple and its many shades. I started off by looking for images that I could be inspired by and found this one. I loved the soft tones of purple, the peaceful, tranquil nature of the photograph. I found it inviting and warm despite the cool shades…

I decided to initially create a simple moodboard just using this one image as it set the mood perfectly. But what I also wanted to show you was how one moodboard, one simple image can inspire a whole interior. I went on to translate the colour palette and feelings evoked by this picture into an interior. The first thing you will often work with when translating an interior from a moodboard is colours. You will see I haven’t used all the colours from the moodboard in this particular interior but it can be really useful to have a palette of colours to work with so you know when adding items such as furniture and accessories, what will fit with your theme.

I also wanted to show you how you can recreate the mood of the board in the interior. By using warm wooden pieces and soft texture like the velvet chairs and cushions you can create an inviting, welcoming space. Balancing the cool shades but still with an overall feeling of warmth (just like in the image) this would make a lovely peaceful space to read in. I absolutely need a room like this in my life, a tranquil, soothing place to escape to! What about you?

Would you like to link up a moodboard to Moodboard Monday? Great! Check below for more details about linking up. Can’t wait to see your boards too :)

I’m going to fess up, I’ve had a pretty rubbish couple of months. For a positive, happy go lucky kind of girl (am I still a girl at 30? ok maybe lady) it can be hard when life doesn’t want to play ball. I’ve been swamped with work (and not the lovely blogging kind) and life seems to be throwing me all these challenges to wade through… and I’m wading… and slowly coming out the other side ;) Littlelish being my little guiding light!

So yeah I’ve been kind of busy and kind of preoccupied but oh my something really bad happened. I forgot one of my dearest friends Birthdays. Totally unforgivable. I just don’t know what happened, I knew it was coming up and there it was gone in the blink of an eye and I didn’t even call her to wish her a Happy Birthday :(  She is a better friend than I am because she forgave me straight away.

So I set about trying to make it up (by buying my way back into her heart with jewellery) and stumbled across this little GEM! Too good not to share with you all.

It’s a shop on Etsy called Silk Purse, Sow’s Ear filled with lovely vintage costume jewellery creations.

Vintage Costume Jewelry designed and made in Edinburgh, Scotland by Silk Purse, Sow’s Ear. Specialities include vintage cocktail rings, art deco brooches, vintage Czech glass rings, bird jewellery of every kind, fifties pearl necklaces and fabulously gaudy eighties clip-on earrings. Oh, and horses, stags, rabbits and greyhounds. Gold is preferred to silver, the more tarnished the better.

I was absolutely and utterly spoilt for choice. Vintage cool, simple yet quirky – totally up my street and fingers crossed my friend will love the pieces I’ve chosen for her. What’s more Eilidh has sent it with super quick delivery and a little birthday note with my (grovelling) words. I really do love Etsy for gifts there is such a fantastic choice of unique, handmade and vintage items and dealing directly with the shop owners is normally a really pleasant experience especially when they are like Eilidh :)

I’ll let some of my favourite pieces talk for themselves. Look! Truly adorable right? Go and pay Eilidh a visit, you won’t regret it.

autumn air

Oh my, it’s September already! Autumn is fast approaching which means we have the task of finding Littlelish a new coat (her one from last year looks so teeny tiny now). Our requirements are rather simple, warm and practical ie. with hood and pockets (Littlelish looooves pockets) and perhaps no pink (that’s perhaps me talking).

I spent a while perusing all the main high street stores I could think of and compiled this moodboard of my favourite coats. I think I am leaning towards the M&S checked coat just for the lovely colours although I’m not sure how warm and waterproof it will be. As Littlelish is quite sensitive to the cold maybe we are better off going for a padded coat? I wonder if the Zara coat at £19.99 will match up to the quality of the Lands’ End coat at £70.00 (despite the fact that Polyvore says it is £22)? Internet shopping is great but for practical matters such as this I’m afraid a comparison is necessary which means an actual trip to the shop is on the cards.

Let you know which coat wins the shopping test…
