Inspiration

I don’t really do new years resolutions, they don’t work for me. Naturally I think about what I’d like to improve and achieve in the coming year but really this is something I am continuously busy with. I set myself achievable goals, wish lists if you’d like, throughout the year. In fact I still have several on the go. Just for traditions sake, I’ve added one more to the list for 2012. To start a new sketchbook (courtesy of Santa / Paperchase) and to upload a new image/drawing/doodle every day this year. Wish me luck, I think I might need it…. in fact my first one is technically already late seen as my clock says 1am. Aaah I’m always fashionably late, aren’t I girls? :/

Last week I chanced upon the most beautiful vintage flower fairies book (by Cicely Mary Barker) from the 1940’s. The illustrations are exquisite. I won’t deny it I’m a lover of all things magical and flowery so the minute I set eyes upon it on the shelf, my heart sang. It was my initial idea to frame each individual flower fairy and sell them as collectors items in my shop. I know they would sell and I would make a considerable profit but I literally CANNOT part with them. The pound signs in my eyes couldn’t sway my heart. They capture my imagination and speak to my inner child. I’m going to hang onto it for now and keep it for a very special little girl (ME! oh alright then, D) but I thought I’d share a few with you.
