I’ve been thinking that Autumn is perhaps my favourite season, I love the cold, crisp days, the golden light, the need for warmth, fires, soups and extra layers. I like to make my house cosy and snug at Autumn time, I start lighting the candles and pulling out the warm blankets ready to wrap up and embrace the change in weather.
We’ve not had much need for warm blankets in the UK yet, we’ve been having extraordinarily warm weather for October. The nights have however started drawing in and it is getting darker much earlier so I’ve been trying to bring some atmosphere to the house on an evening by turning on my beautiful lights sent to me by Cable and Cotton.
Each ball is handmade out of cotton thread, creating a beautiful crafted look. As the light shines through the colours of the balls change slightly adding a new dimension. I love my lights whether they are lit or not and have decided to decorate my dining room table with them, they look lovely contrasted against the dark blue wall. One of the other things I love about this time of year is having friends and family over for long, lazy dinners accompanied by soft lighting and large glasses of red wine. These will look perfect running down the centre of the table once I’ve dressed it ready for dinner.
The colour palette I chose of soft creams and greys could go in any of my rooms at home so I am sure I will move them around a few times. It was a tough choice though as they have so many fab colours, you can create your own colour palette from scratch they even gold and silver now Christmas is coming! I’ve seen some lovely creative ways of using them over beds, around archways and over sofas. Such a fab versatile lighting accessory that looks pretty turned on and off, I’m thrilled with mine.
The lights were easy to put together, you literally just pop the ball on the end of the fairy light and plug them in. Word of warning though, don’t leave them near any kittens or puppies! I only just rescued them from my rather large puppy, whoops.
Thank you Cable and Cotton for these awesome lights, I love them!
