A bathroom is a functional room. It needs a bath, a sink, a shower and storage space. Perhaps that’s why we are still making do with our bathroom, 12 months after moving into our renovation project house. While we are currently looking at investing in a new bathroom suite, I’m aware that it’s the design details of the room that lift a white suite from the ordinary to extraordinary, transforming it from a plain white box to an elegant, luxurious space for washing away the stress of the day.
I’ve been looking at some lovely ways to add beautiful details to take your bathroom to the next level. My favourites are all saved on my Home inspiration and House renovation boards on Pinterest but I thought I’d share the loveliest with you…
Why not add interest with tiles?
Who said you had to lay tiles straight? Be original! Look at how these tiles have been layed to create a quirky jaggered edge and I just adore the white mosiac tiled floor (image source unknown – where can I get a floor like this, anyone?)

Play and mix tiles creating different effects as shown in the recessed storage areas in this bathroom.
Opt for a sink with a difference
I always comment positively on bathrooms with a unique sink. There is something special about making a mundane job like washing your hands a magical experience!
Accessorise with style
My most popular pin on pinterest and it isn’t hard to see why! This beautiful mirror is from Cox and Cox and would look stunning in a bathroom setting.
Add class and sophistication with a tray of soap and toiletries, you could even add fresh flowers for extra loveliness.
